Cybersecurity Engineer

A Cybersecurity Engineer is responsible for protecting an organization's systems, networks, applications, endpoints, and data from cyber threats. The role involves implementing security controls, monitoring for suspicious activity, investigating incidents, managing vulnerabilities, and continuously improving the organization's security posture.

• Bachelor’s degree in Cybersecurity, Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
• Strong understanding of networking and security fundamentals.
• Knowledge of firewalls, VPNs, IDS/IPS, endpoint security, and SIEM.
• Experience with security monitoring and log analysis.
• Understanding of vulnerability management and risk assessment.
• Knowledge of Linux and Windows security.
• Familiarity with Active Directory, IAM, MFA, and access-control concepts.
• Understanding of OWASP Top 10 and common cyberattack techniques.
• Basic scripting knowledge in Python, PowerShell, or Bash.
• Familiarity with AWS/Azure/GCP security concepts.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Good communication and incident-handling skills.
• Certifications such as CompTIA Security+, CEH, CySA+, CISSP, or CCNA CyberOps are advantageous.
