Job Description
Under the general supervision of the Manager of Inventory Operations, the Supervisor of Warehouse Operations is responsible for the general administration of the MTS storerooms, supervision of Storekeepers, management of the Agency's inventory and all warehouse functions. The successful candidate must be able to fulfill the physical demands of the job such as walking, stooping, sitting, bending, reaching for overhead files and occasional lifting (must be able to lift up to 75 pounds). Must be able to operate a motor vehicle and perform tasks involving manual dexterity, such as use of a computer and 10-key. Work will at times require more than 8 hours per day or an irregular work week to perform the essential duties of the position. Duties will be performed primarily in an office type environment and may require travel to external locations and agencies.

What does Supervisor of Warehouse Does:
Essential Functions
- Develops, trains, evaluates and provide counselling where necessary;
- Establishes, monitors and maintains inventory storage in the warehouse to ensure accuracy and availability;
- Assists in the development and updating of an inventory system that includes fiscal year-end cutoff procedures and inventory rack and cycle counts to test records and monitor continual high degree of inventory integrity;
- Ensures the storeroom's shipping, receiving and customer reservation fulfilment responsibilities are carried out in a timely and efficient manner in meeting KPI service level standards;
- Ensures the timely processing of Purchase Requisitions to facilitate the prompt processing of outside repair or exchange components;
- Coordinate with Procurement and Inventory Planning & Analytics departments to facilitate the progression of purchase requirements for urgent parts and outline the physical limitations of storage capacity;
- Maintains storeroom safety and security;
- Holds regular meetings with all customers and report back on a weekly basis in ensuring a full understanding and remedial plans for all performance issues and continuous improvement;
- Maintains Storekeeper attendance records;
- Ensures understanding of current industry trends, methods and technology;
- Establishes internal goals, which promote safety, efficiency, training, quality assurance and savings;
- Demonstrates and facilitates the highest core values in a transparent and accountable manner;
- Maintains a clean and safe working environment for all storerooms and material functions;
- Outlines proper storeroom management protocols and ensures all procedures are followed;
- Monitors internal parts movement and distribution for compliance with "standard operating procedure" protocols;
- Provides SAP and ERP application support for the front-line employees including basic stock ordering training for customers;
- Performs other duties as assigned;
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Knowledge of or ability to learn MTS policies and regulations;
- Able to read, write, understand and apply MTS policies, regulations and union labor contracts;
- Able to write letters, memoranda and reports using clear, concise and grammatically correct English;
- Able to speak clearly, distinctly and effectively in person-to-person or small group situations using tact and diplomacy;
- Coordinate and initiate actions necessary to implement decisions and delegate responsibilities to appropriate personnel;
- Establish and maintain priorities across all aspects of warehouse tasks so as to complete assignments by deadlines without detailed instructions;
- Skilled in verifying the accuracy and completeness of forms and reports;
- Knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel and the ability to learn and use other software that MTS might have or acquire;
- Exhibit a high level of analytical and creative skills in resolving complex problems;
- Demonstrate a high degree of motivation and the ability to motivate direct staff;
- Ability to understand and balance the challenge of internal and external sensitivities and expectations to ensure success in brokering business outcomes to the satisfaction of all parties;
- Moderate knowledge and experience with MRP within SAP systems.

Experience/Education/Certificates/License(s)
- Possess a high school diploma or GED. A college diploma or bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in a discipline relating to Operations Management, Business Administration or a related field;
- Minimum of 5 years of direct stockroom/warehouse-related experience with a minimum of 2 years of supervisory or management experience;
- Experience should include receiving, logging, storing, monitoring, stock integrity, issuing and retrieving parts, supplies and equipment;
- Preparation of material in accordance with any regulatory guidelines for any external shipments;
- Licensed to operate a forklift and able to operate any other forms of stockroom-related equipment;
- Facilitate the maintenance and accuracy of detailed computerized inventory records;
- Experience using MS Excel and Word applications as well as an ERP system, SAP preferred;
- Must possess and maintain a current and valid California driver's license.
- Must be available to work all shifts across all days and act as a stand in warehouse operator in the event there are insufficient staffs;
