Site Supply Chain Manager (2002083) – Greenville, OH

Where the Chemistry Happens

We are seeking a professional like you to serve as Supply Chain Manager at our Greenville, Ohio site with direct responsibility for coaching and developing a team of professionals responsible for production planning, finite scheduling, raw material planning, transportation planning/scheduling and warehousing. As a key leader within the Coatings Supply Chain Organization, we will rely on you to direct inventory and planning processes to ensure that materials and products are available when needed to satisfy plant and customer requirements. You will be critical to ensuring end-to-end accountability needed in the business to improve delivery reliability, the customer experience, and drive growth for our business in North America.

Formula for Success

  • Leveraging your education and experience in Supply Chain / Logistics or a related field combined with your supervisory/management experience, you will coach and develop supply chain and warehouse staff, as well as provide strategic and tactical direction for the business specific supply chain activities within the Coatings(ECN) business unit.
  • Demonstrating a thorough knowledge of supply chain, you will be responsible for managing and integrating supply and demand management into the site, transportation management and warehousing, supply network planning, master production scheduling, inventory management, materials planning, within BASF and across supplier companies, by coordinating and collaborating with channel partners, (suppliers, intermediaries, third-party service providers, and customers) to ensure the seamless flow of in-coming raw materials and out-going finished products.
  • Utilizing your experience in a manufacturing facility and a warehouse environment, you will ensure resources and tools are available for employees to safely complete their job tasks. Additionally, you will ensure department SOPs are defined and employees adhere to EHS and departmental standard operating procedures. Utilizing your strong business acumen, you will perform the Bulk Transportation Planning analysis and cost tracking to identify areas for service improvements and cost optimization/reduction. Additionally, you will monitor and work to improve Transportation Performance KPIs by partnering with our dedicated carrier, Corporate Logistics and transportation procurement. Your strong knowledge of Supply Chain Management and Manufacturing concepts is essential as you will identify and implement improvements in department Supply Chain Management policies, processes, and procedures to ensure end-to-end accountability needed in the business to improve delivery reliability and drive growth for Coatings.
  • Your superior analytical skills, combined with your thorough knowledge of current SCM concepts and SAP/ERP systems, will allow you to develop your team in identifying and implementing cost saving opportunities as well as leveraging best practice supply chain concepts within the organization.
  • Your strong skills relative to project coordination, time management, multi-tasking, and delivering on commitments is critical to this role. Although not required, certification by the American Production and Inventory Control Society is highly desired.
