PURPOSE AND OBJECTIVES

The SAP Private Managed Cloud is a comprehensive cloud infrastructure offering from SAP combined with managed services. The offering allows customers to run their SAP HANA based applications, including SAP Business Suite powered by SAP HANA, S/4HANA, SAP applications powered by NetWeaver and HANA, Business Objects Enterprise (BOE/BOBJ), Data Services, SAP Fiori, and other SAP products in a managed cloud environment. The role of Senior Solution Advisor/CAA joins other highly motivated, customer-focused individuals, strengthening the Architecture & Advisory team’s service delivery, acting as primary point of contact, trusted advisor and subject matter expert for customers, the HEC sales teams for technical topics and in collaboration with other internal teams.

EXPECTATIONS AND TASKS

The Senior Cloud Architect role is customer centric and this role is dedicated to providing high touch, best in class support for customers as well as timely, strategic collaboration for the sales team, acting as subject matter experts throughout the entire life cycle of a sales deal. The following are the key tasks for the role of Senior Cloud Architect, with potential for additional project / task support as required by the business:

• Present the HANA Enterprise Cloud Technical deep dive and SAP Cloud Strategy to customers.
• Present in detail the HEC service offerings and value proposition to the customers (both technology-oriented audiences and end-users).
• Support and organize technical responses to RFP / RFI’s.
• Conduct detailed technical workshops (assessments) with customers (usually 1 to 2 days) to define the to-be architecture, document sizing approach, requirements, interfaces and assumptions and plan the migration roadmap together with Professional Services.
• Work closely with the SAP solution architects & customers to map the planned solution architecture into the HANA Enterprise Cloud reference architecture.
• Blue-print technology and infrastructure solutions based on customer requirements.
• Well versed and present the key design aspects like HA, DR, Governance, Operations and Security.
• Generate pricing and provide ongoing deal support to sales teams.
• Own the technical discussions with the customer on the HEC topic and act as the orchestrator of experts to obtain expertise from HEC organization as required.
• Work with delivery team for deal handover and initial build support.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS AND COMPETENCIES

• Minimum of a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree - preferably in Engineering, Computer Science, Business Administration or similar focus and from an accredited university.
• Minimum of: 10 plus years of basis experience; 1 year HANA technology experience, Hosting Experience, OS & DB migration experience; working understanding on Network, Security aspects of SAP technologies in hosted environments; ability and willingness to undertake customer related travel on short notice – and total travel of up to 40%.
• Fluency in English, any other language skills are additional assets.
• Ability to work in rapidly changing environment, successfully shifting priorities to respond to customer/sales team requests, many times within very expedited turnaround terms.
• Primary Skills sought:
  • Excellent communication skills (verbal, written, customer facing presentation acumen) and additional soft skills applicable in the sales life cycle processes.
  • Cloud security and framework
  • SAP NetWeaver Technology
  • OS/DB, HANA Certifications are preferred and given special preference
  • Familiarity with common SAP solution architectures and sizing
  • Prior Pre-Sales experience in similar role is a plus
