Senior Software Engineer (SAP ABAP)

Major Purpose:

Works on a product team and supports product design by planning its work, coordinating with others, and writing and testing code to deliver functionality for the complete product or products it supports.
This level designs complex/significant parts of a system/sub-system or works on a complete product of a broad scope and solves well-defined problems with little guidance. May act as a work lead, providing technical coaching to other engineers and support personnel; Recognized as an expert user of critical technology; develops new software functionality for product development.

Major Duties:

Develops, codes, configures, and tests programs and systems.
Evaluates and implements enhancement design solutions to improve cost, quality, and performance of software applications.
Analyzes assignments and determines software specifications that must be fulfilled to achieve objectives.
Executes necessary documentation, as directed, or needed.
Collaborates with other relevant stakeholders and team members to ensure that features meet business needs.
Follows industry-standard agile software design methodology for development and documentation.
Mentors junior software engineers on the team.

Education:

Degree in an Engineering/Technology discipline or equivalent experience. - University Degree (4 years or equivalent)
Degree in an Information Technology discipline or equivalent experience. - University Degree (4 years or equivalent)

The client is seeking an SAP techno-functional software engineer who can analyze, design, configure and customize SAP solutions.
The position will be working on solutions for the client Wholesale Financial Services function of the Order Management program.
The individual may be asked to work with the business to analyze acceptance criteria and perform required functional configuration within SAP IS-Banking Module (Account management, Open Item Management, FI-CA and Bank Analyzer, etc.).
Candidates should have experience with any of financial modules such as FICO, AP/AR, or CMS, but a strong candidate would have experience with Banking Services and Bank Analyzer. They will support the design of the interfaces between IS-BANKING Module and other SAP ERP landscapes.
This position may also work on custom Object Oriented-ABAP development. Candidates should have extensive experience with OO-ABAP and a strong candidate would implement customized solutions that adhere to quality standards by implementing object-oriented design principles and executing engineering practices such as test-driven development, CI/CD (change management, Jenkins, Active Control, etc.) and rigorous refactoring. Technical skills include: Object Oriented ABAP, NW Gateway, ALE/IDOC’s/Proxies, Process Orchestration, Enhancement Framework, UI5/Fiori, CDS Views, OData, HANA Views and Process Object Layer (POL).
