Java Developer

A Java Developer designs, develops, tests, and maintains applications using Java and related technologies. The role typically involves developing backend services, creating REST APIs, working with databases, fixing bugs, writing unit tests, and collaborating with frontend developers, QA engineers, and other team members.

Typical responsibilities:

• Develop and maintain Java/Spring Boot applications.

• Design and implement RESTful APIs.

• Write clean, reusable, and maintainable code.

• Develop database queries and manage data using SQL.

• Debug and resolve application issues.

• Write unit and integration tests.

• Participate in code reviews.

• Use Git for source-code management.

• Work with Agile/Scrum development teams.

• Deploy and monitor applications in development/test/production environments.

Educational:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field is commonly preferred.

Technical:

• Strong knowledge of Core Java and OOP.

• Experience with Spring Boot and REST APIs.

• Good understanding of SQL and relational databases.

• Familiarity with Git and Maven/Gradle.

• Knowledge of JPA/Hibernate.

• Understanding of software development and testing practices.

• Knowledge of microservices and cloud platforms is an advantage.

Experience:

• Fresher: Java, OOP, SQL, basic Spring Boot, and at least 1–2 projects.

• 1–3 years: Java + Spring Boot + REST API + SQL + Git + testing.

• 3+ years: Strong backend development plus microservices, system design, cloud, Docker/Kubernetes, and CI/CD.
