IT Technician

L&R is the largest distributor and the 6th largest purchaser of cosmetics in the United States. We now distribute over 40,000 items (cosmetics, toys, school supplies, hosiery, hair accessories, OTC, HBA and more) through 3 regional warehouse locations in Arkansas, New Jersey, and California.

Job Summary

Working from our IT offices at Industry City in Brooklyn, the IT Support Technician provides level 1 support for all business units. Answering support requests, troubleshooting and configuring hardware, monitoring server status and backups are all part of this position’s responsibilities.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Answering calls to the IT Help Desk
• Performing local & remote support for PC hardware & various applications
• Setup & troubleshooting for handheld order entry devices
• Hardware setup, installation and configuration
• New user setup in Active Directory, Exchange365, ERP system, intranet, etc.
• Server monitoring, maintenance and backups.
• Maintenance and updates to intranet and web servers

Qualification:

• Good verbal & written communication skills.
• Understanding of MS Windows, Office and Server operation and configuration.
• Associates or Bachelor’s degree in information technology preferred.
• Experience with any of the following a plus:
  • VMware
  • Linux (Red Hat, Ubuntu)
  • Apache, MySQL, PHP
  • Networking, firewall configuration
