Free HVAC Technician Training

Delaware Tech’s highly regarded HVAC Certificate Program will prepare you to enter the high demand HVAC industry! Students completing the 300-hour program will be highly skilled in all aspects of heating, refrigeration and air conditioning. Our state of-the-art Heating and Air Conditioning Labs allow us to provide exceptional hands-on training and industry preparation. The program courses include:

• OSHA Construction Safety
• HVAC I: Introduction to HVAC
• HVAC II: Heating Systems
• HVAC III: Refrigeration and Air Conditioning
• HVAC IV: Advanced HVAC-R
• EPA 608 Certification

This program will be delivered in a hybrid format, delivered 60% online and 40% hands-on skills at the Innovation & Technology Center (ITC) in New Castle. The hands-on training sessions will be limited to 8 students for the purpose of social distancing. Participants can complete the entire HVAC Certificate and be job-ready by March 31, 2021.

Candidates must attend an information session and meet eligibility requirements, which include:

• Availability for regular attendance each day
• Possession of a Social Security card
• Proof of birthdate and US residency
• The desire to work full-time

On August 3, 2020 Governor John Carney signed Executive Order #43 (EO43) creating the Rapid Workforce Training and Redeployment Initiative (“Initiative”) to assist Delaware workers and their families who have lost jobs and income due to the COVID-19 crisis. In partnership, the Delaware Department of Labor, Division of Employment and Training (“DOL”) and Delaware Workforce Development Board (“DWDB”, and collectively with DOL “Delaware”) issuing a funding opportunity to provide guidance on the workforce training services.
