Cyber Security

A Cybersecurity Specialist is responsible for protecting an organization’s computer systems, networks, and data from cyber threats. This role involves proactively identifying security risks, monitoring system activity, and responding to security incidents to ensure the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of information.

Key Responsibilities:

• Threat Monitoring & Detection:
  Continuously monitor networks, servers, and applications for unusual activity, malware, intrusions, or system weaknesses.

• Vulnerability Assessment:
  Conduct regular vulnerability scans, penetration testing, and risk assessments to identify potential security gaps.

• Incident Response:
  Investigate security breaches, perform root-cause analysis, contain threats, and implement recovery procedures. Prepare incident reports and recommend preventive measures.

• Security Tools & Systems Management:
  Configure, manage, and maintain security tools such as firewalls, SIEM systems, IDS/IPS, antivirus platforms, and endpoint security.

• Security Policies & Compliance:
  Develop, implement, and enforce security policies, standards, and best practices. Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements (ISO 27001, NIST, GDPR, etc.).

• Access Management:
  Manage user access controls, authentication mechanisms, and identity management systems to ensure proper data access.

• Security Architecture & Hardening:
  Assist in designing secure network architectures, system hardening, and defining security configurations across servers, cloud platforms, and applications.

• Training & Awareness:
  Educate employees about cybersecurity risks, phishing awareness, and safe digital practices.

• Reporting & Documentation:
  Maintain detailed logs, create technical documentation, and generate reports on security activities and incidents.

Required Skills:

• Strong understanding of networking, operating systems (Windows/Linux), and cloud platforms

• Knowledge of security protocols, cryptography, and authentication

• Experience with cybersecurity tools (Wireshark, Nmap, Splunk, Metasploit, etc.)

• Analytical thinking, problem-solving, and attention to detail

• Ability to work under pressure during security incidents

• Good communication and documentation skills
