AWS Data Engineer

JOB DESCRIPTION

Role / Tier: AWS Data Engineer

Key responsibility:

• Experience implanting a data lake architecture

• Extensive knowledge and experience using concepts including but not limited to

  • Proficient in AWS Services, Glue, Athena, Redshift, RDS, Step Functions

  • Writing and tuning SQL queries

• Performance tuning Hadoop/Spark implementations

• Agile process, CI/CD automation, Test driven development

• Experience with Python/Pyspark

• Minimum 3 years ETL / data movement tools (Glue)

• Experience with Insurance financial systems and specifically IFRS standards is a big asset.

• Commercial insurance experience a plus

• Prior experience working with migrations of on premise to new cloud technologies an asset

• Practical experience with property casualty insurance/reinsurance and multicurrency systems is an asset

• Ability to analyze and write business and technical specifications and interact with our business users effectively

• Possess a systematic, disciplined and analytical approach to problem solving
