Job Description:


RICHES is an interdisciplinary, academic/community digital project in the Department of History at the University of Central Florida This collaborative program has partnered with both academic and community groups and contains both completed and in-progress projects. The database houses individual faculty members’ direct projects and the assets produced through the projects.
RICHES has two goals: 1) to serve as a model for documenting the history and culture of a region through interactive database that draws from multiple repositories and personal collections, and 2) to develop new and digital tools for historians.

The Application Programmer 1:

  • Develop and debug programs with JavaScript, PHP, Python and MySQL in a Linux environment with Apache webservers
  • Modify and maintain existing web server, web application and software
  • Plan the development of new web or mobile projects
  • Design, install and troubleshoot software
  • Develop standards for backing up archives of electronic information
  • Document computer applications
  • Manage programming projects to meet time requirements

Minimum Qualifications:


Bachelor's or Master's degree and 0+ years of relevant experience.
