Due to growth at Homesite, we are currently seeking an intelligent, analytical, energetic individual to join our IT group. Java Developers will be engaged in custom application configuration, development, software package customizations, and software maintenance. Development work will include presentation layer work, microservices, and various services tier systems in a J2EE platform.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES :

• Translate business requirements into technical solutions
• Create technical design specifications and documentation
• Assist with defining development work plans
• Configure, Design, develop, & deploy application components
• Participate in technical design and code reviews
• Includes unit testing (JUnit) as part of the standard development process
• Communicate development status and escalate issues to management
• Execute processes to ensure application integrity and availability
• May research alternative development methodologies and make recommendations for team improvement
• Able to troubleshoot and resolve application defects/outages

JOB SPECIFICATIONS:

• 5+ years of experience in software design and development in a J2EE environment.
• Experience customizing a claims system called 1Insurer written by the Innovation Groups is a plus
• Excellent communication (oral & written) and organizational skills
• Experience with object-oriented techniques and N-tier architectures
• Experience with Microservices development using Spring Boot
• Exposure to CI/CD with Java Microservices
• Knowledge of EJB, JMS, Spring Framework, JavaScript, Hibernate/Other ORM, and JPA
• Strong XML skills
• Excellent Java skills
• Knowledge of services oriented architecture patterns highly desired.
• Ability & desire to work and collaborate in a dynamic team environment
• Experience with IBM Eclipse or IntelliJ IDEA
• Knowledge of .NET (C#) is a plus

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES

• 5+ years Java
• 2+ years of Object-oriented development technologies
• 3+ years of experience with Microsoft SQL Server
• 3+ years of experience with SOAP and REST based web services and XML/JSON data transmission
• Experience with CVS, BitBucket, and Jira
• Experience with Web Services, Microservices, and Spring Boot
• Experience with JavaScript, XML, XSLT, SOAP, REST, and WSDL
• Experience with JUnit, Jenkins, and CI/CD

EDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATIONS/JOB EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

Bachelor of Science or equivalent degree in a technical area, preferably computer science or engineering

• Work at Office (Indoor)
