SD-WAN Engineer

Responsibilities and competencies:

Be able to lead in the discovery of the customer’s business requirements and map them to a technical solution.

Proven practical experience in more than one of the following Cisco Architecture areas: Enterprise Networking, Data Center Networking, Security, and Software.

Proven practical experience in the following Cisco solutions: Cisco Software Defined Access (SD Access), or Cisco Software Defined Wide Area Network (SD WAN).

Be able to lead technical trainings, workshops, test drives, and demos with a goal of educating and driving partner capabilities.

Contributing or participating in developing advanced lab scenarios for SWAT and team lab.

Lead in developing the team's knowledge of Cisco Solution activation and deployment concepts.

Expertise with Solution selling to Enterprise and Corporate Line-of-Business as well as to traditional IT buying centers.

Articulate the unique value of Cisco Solutions by itself or within a full multi-vendor solution.

Have a base knowledge of Programmability and DevOps and Cisco API’s, Controllers, and SDK’s.

Ensure the architectural impact and capabilities of Cisco Solutions are understood and valued.

Seek out opportunities to partner with and mentor less-experienced teammates and to share best practices to help strengthen the team’s capabilities.

Professionally present to executive management.

Additional required knowledge/skills:

Must have experience driving projects and programs, measuring performance and trends, and communicating cross-functionally.

Ability to promote new and innovative approaches to addressing business challenges and problems.

Review competitive solutions, technology and product offerings.

Excellent written and verbal communication, listening, adaptability and negotiation skills.

Typically requires an Engineering/Computer Science degree.

Must have CCIE or CCNP – Routing & Switching, Mobility career certification.

CCNP-Security is preferred.

Additional routing and switching or security third party certification are preferred but aren’t required.

Ability to travel as required.
