Oracle DBA (Intermediate)

Savantage Solutions is seeking an Oracle Database Administrator (DBA) to join our high-quality team that delivers innovative solutions to our federal clients. The Oracle DBA maintains our proprietary Oracle based financial software product, AltimateTM. The position will support software maintenance of the database servers including installation, upgrades and patching as well as support all Altimate application-related aspects of development, unit testing, integration testing and production deployment.

Duties and Responsibilities:

The DBA will be responsible for performance tuning, proactive triaging of alerts, and assessing database and application performance before they become issues. DBA will perform root cause analysis for issues addressing them timely. Oracle DBA also contributes to analyses on capacity, scalability, data migration, disaster recovery planning, and Oracle database standards documentation.

Knowledge, Skill, and Abilities:

The candidate must have:

• 5+ years of experience in database development and support
• Strong working knowledge of Oracle Database Management System (DBMS) 12c and 19c
• Prior experience with Oracle WebLogic application server, Oracle Fusion Middleware (OFM), Oracle Business Intelligence Enterprise Edition (OBIEE)
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Experience using PL/SQL, SQLPlus and SQL-Developer tools etc.
• Prior experience migrating databases within and across different platforms
• Monitor and tune database performance related issues
• Able to work independently and within a collaborative team-oriented environment using sound judgement and decision-making
• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
• Must be a United States (U.S.) Citizen
• Must be able to obtain a public trust

Preferred Requirements

• Experience with Windows 2012R2, Oracle Enterprise Linux, Red Hat Linux etc.
• Experience with Data Pump, SQL*Loader and backup and recovery tools and methods such as RMAN utility
• Experience with Web application development tools, such as Oracle APEX and J-developer
• Experience with Oracle BI Publisher is a plus
• Experience with Oracle Enterprise Management tools
• Experience with Cloud Technologies such as Oracle Cloud (OCI) or Amazon Cloud (AWS)
• Understanding of LDAP / Microsoft AD / Oracle OID is a plus

Education and Certification

• Engineering or Computer Science degree preferred
• Oracle Certified Professional (OCP) Database Administrator (DBA) preferred
