Azure Cloud Architect

Candidate will design IT solutions and services with a focus on infrastructure, networking and security in a Microsoft Azure cloud environment. Will be part of an international task force with very high profile exposure. Must have at least 5 years experience in similar positions.

Working Hours:
US office hours. Candidate may be asked to work out of standard hours, including weekends, during planned go live or special maintenance activities.

Location: Burr Ridge, IL. Occasional meetings may be held in Racine, WI.

Architectures/operating environments:

• Cloud: mandatory Microsoft Azure (Azure CLI, API REST, PaaS/SaaS), optional: Softlayer/IBM Private Cloud.
• Virtualization: VMWARE vSphere/NSX.
• OS: mandatory Linux (Red Hat Enterprise Linux, Debian, Ubuntu, etc.), mandatory Windows Server.
• Containers: mandatory Docker, Kubernetes, optional: Chef, Terraform.
• IoT: Development, Security.
• Architecture Concepts: High availability , Disaster Recovery.
• Network: TCP/IP, routing, firewalling - HTTP, DNS, SMTP, IPSEC.
• Storage: Tiering, SAN vs DAS, etc.
• Backup: backup/data retention techniques.

Application and programming languages in use (optional):

• Korn/Bash, Powershell, Python, Perl, SQL, R
• one (or more) of: IBM Websphere Application Server, Red Hat JBoss AS, Apache HTTP Server, Apache Tomcat, NodeJS
• one (or more) of: Postgres DB, Oracle RDBMS, Microsoft SQLSERVER, IBM DB2, Oracle MySQL/MariaDB, MongoDB, Hadoop, Spark.

Workplace toolset:

• Microsoft Office
• Microsoft Visio

Soft skills:

• Strong experience in working in ENTERPRISE environment.
• Strong experience in Customer facing roles.
• Acting as a team player.
• Problem solving.
• Good communications skills.
• Written/spoken Italian Language is a plus.
