Team Lead - Engineering - Charles River Development

Charles River Development, a State Street Company, helps enable sound and efficient investing across all asset classes. Our Software as a Service-based solution (SaaS) is designed to automate and simplify investment management on a single platform – from portfolio management and risk analytics through trading and post-trade settlement, with integrated compliance and managed data throughout. Headquartered in Burlington, Massachusetts, we support clients globally with more than 750 employees in 11 regional offices. CRD is currently expanding the capabilities of our products in several new areas.

This role will guide the development of the Central Workbench and Model Management suite, key products in the Charles River Wealth Management solution. As a command center dashboard, Central Workbench lets Wealth Managers efficiently scale their business by managing hundreds of thousands of accounts with advanced rebalancing, model management, and dataset drill-down capability. The Model Management suite provides clients with model creating, editing, and administration tools. You'll be delivering software performance and scalability that drives the next generation of Wealth Management services in the industry.

Responsibilities

  • Direct Management of a team of 5-10 software development and QA engineers in an Agile Scrum team environment.
  • Collaborate with Business Analysts, Product Managers and UI/UX Designers to turn complex business requirements into working and sustainable software.
  • Work closely with the Product Owner and others on requirements analysis, planning, project management, and scheduling.
  • Develop, test and debug full stack software applications in Java, C#, SQL and Angular.
  • Maintain and enhance code quality practice through unit testing, code reviews, and code security guidelines.
  • Provide expert level troubleshooting on large, mission critical client implementations.
  • Assist in attracting top-level technical resources.
  • Provide mentoring to technical staff of all levels.
  • Work in a dynamic, fast-paced, Agile team environment.


Requirements

  • BS/MS in Computer Science or equivalent field
  • 10+ years of commercial software development, proficient in developing multi-tier solutions
  • 5+ years of professional C# development building front-end applications
  • 5+ years of professional Java experience building back-end services and APIs
  • 5+ years SQL development experience in Oracle and/or SQL Server with specific focus on query optimization
  • 2+ years of experience in Angular and/or other Web application frameworks, preferably in a capacity to migrate thick client Windows applications to web
  • 3+ years of experience leading a team of developers and quality engineers
  • Demonstrated ability to provide vision and direction to engineering teams.
  • Strong ability to debug multi-tier, highly multi-threaded, transactional code.
  • Architect level experience in GUI design and Object Oriented server-side development
  • Experience developing software for the financial markets a very strong plus.
  • Excellent communication skills (verbal and written), good interpersonal skills, ability to gather and understand requirements in the financial sector.
