The Company is currently hiring a Bar Back for our newly renovated Jockey Silks Bourbon Bar. Jockey Silks is home to 180 bourbons and 50 core wines and champagne. The bar will also serve local beers and will bring modern takes on standard cocktails. The primary role of the Bar Back will be to assist the Bartender with service to keep the bar operational at all times.

Responsibilities

  • Restock liquor, mixers and garnishes behind bar
  • Perform bussing responsibilites such as clearing empty cups and trash from bartop tables
  • Maintain overall appearance and cleanliness of bar by wiping down surfaces, arranging drink menus, salt and pepper shakers and keeping chairs pushed in
  • Ensure Bartenders are equipped with clean rags and bartending stations at all times
  • Clean cups and dishes in back of the house, adhere to dishwashing procedures
  • Ensure Bartenders are equipped with clean glasses in front of house at all times
  • Check and restock ice bins
  • Remove trash and wipe down drink spills
  • Assist Bartenders with back of the house liquor inventory
  • Follow all opening, closing, and key-holding procedures during each shift
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma
  • Ability to work in a fast paced environment
  • Physical ability to lift up to heavy equipment, carry trays with bottles and glassware, stand for long periods during daily shift
  • Ability to follow instruction
  • Friendly attitude and demeanor
  • Excellent customer service skills

Minimum bartending experience is required. Previous bartending experience in a hospitality setting is a definite plus. Strong working knowledge of Bourbons. High school diploma or GED equivalent.
