One of our enterprise customers combines an AIX mainframe on-premise infrastructure along with their cloud services for a rich hybrid compute environment. They require a full time AIX consultant to help manage their AIX and Linux platforms. Preference will be given to candidates in one of our office locations: DFW, Houston, Austin, Denver, Los Altos or Washington DC.
The following experience is required:
At least 2 years of experience with Azure and Linux solutions
At least 5 years of experience with AIX on frame and on premises ERP solutions
At least 5 years of experience with Linux on premises and cloud platforms
At least 5 years of experience with Windows on premises on or in the cloud with detailed architecture
At least 2 years of experience supporting applications infrastructure in the cloud.
At least 4 years of experience in consulting professional services environment
The following skills and capabilities are required:
AIX 7.x Administration experience
Familiarity with Power8 and Power9 servers
Familiarity with network troubleshooting techniques from ping to tcpdump.
Should know what vSCSI and NPIV are and how to manage as well as how to manage NFS Server and NFS client
Print Queue/Print Device management & troubleshooting experience will be helpful.
IP and Async connectivity
VIOS management and basic troubleshooting
Basic troubleshooting.
Knowledge/Experience with Change, Request and Incident Management Systems and process.
Working knowledge of AIX 5.x +
Shell Scripting (ksh, sh, perl, etc.)
Knowledge and working experience with Power5 +
Realport Digi device management & troubleshooting experience.
Technical Writing experience.
